Intern/Website Assistant


Reports to: Director, Information Services
Based in: Washington, DC

Role Summary:


The Website Assistant will assist the Director of Information Services in managing and developing the Council's website.

The Assistant will work out a website management & development plan with the Director of Information Services and may help on some or all of the following:

  • Manage the website;
  • Provide creative ideas to improve the website;
  • Maintan several components of the website such as the AFTA Tariff database;
  • Ensure the website is up-to-date;
  • Work with Country/Working Group Managers to ensure that the website has the relevant, reliable information;
  • Provide administrative support responding to other information services activities.


Qualified candidates will have attention to detail, previous experience in website design; knowledge of ASP/PHP/HTML; interest in the region and learning, superb writing and editing skills (mandatory) and exemplify professionalism. A confidentiality contract on proprietary information will be required.


This is an opportunity to build experience in information services and knowledge of political, economic and trade issues in Southeast Asia.

The Council will work with college programs to obtain credit where possible. The position is unpaid but will be an excellent educational experience and includes monthly Smart Trip benefits.
