Street Children School
Indonesia
Through the Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Foundation, this UPS Foundation
sponsored project aims to provide not only basic school amenities
but also nutritional care, health care, and psychological support
to approximately 150 underprivileged children (53 at kindergarten
and 97 at elementary level). This program, which is based in Cipinang
(East Jakarta) also works to improve the life of the families of
the children through work opportunity and hygiene care.
Company Description
Through programs such as the Global Volunteer Week and the Neighbor
to Neighbor Service Challenge and with funding largely from its
UPS Foundation, UPS taps into its employee pool of 370,000 employees
worldwide to encourage volunteerism and community service.
UPS' community programs services broad ranges of needs in many
different countries world wide. Specifically in Southeast Asia,
UPS has serviced communities in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand,
Singapore, Malaysia.
